Sitting in the back observing this calamitous scene, it was difficult for me to not giggle. And I hoped the sweet women in charge didn’t stress over the episode because in my mind, it was a total success:).
The week before Easter at our house this year was kind of like that balloon drop. It was as though the calendar just exploded and we were suddenly in the midst of a tumult of activity. Teacher Appreciation Week (I’m a room mom), Holy Week, piano lessons, scouts, appointments, our Passover meal, and more. Then on the weekend came Easter festivities, General Conference, Easter Sunday…and Spencer’s birthday. Just remembering it all is exhausting.
But despite the berserk nature of the week, that weekend was one of my favorites of all time. It was beautifully busy, with many happy things that made all the work worth it. Things did not go perfectly. There were plenty of take-back moments that I wished had not happened. But as I went to bed Sunday night, separated from the entropic eventfulness, I thought back on all the little joyful moments that occurred, and as my mind wove them together, they created a calming feeling of success in my heart.
It was truly an awesomely epic weekend.
Family Home Evening Egg Dying.
Egg hunting…
Talmage quickly evaluating his loot. We put money in most of the eggs instead of candy. This accomplishes two things: less candy hanging around for weeks, and the older kids still eagerly participate in the tradition:).
Papas are the best <3. We loved having grandparents with us for the weekend.Priesthood Session attendees. The handsomeness is overwhelming;).
Spencer’s turn to join the fun:). Easter Dinner.
And then on to celebrating our birthday boy…
His squooshiness is too much. He’s lucky I didn’t eat him.
He really didn’t love the hat.
The progression of eating a slice of cake…
This kid has THE BEST grandparents in the world. Such a blessing.
Also, if you’ve ever wondered why our children are so adorable…these women, right here. Such beauties:).
